BIOGRAPHY
Michiel obtained his Licentiate/Master of Laws degree from the University of Antwerp in 2005.
Given his strong interest in the business world, he pursued a hands-on management program, the Master of Global Management at Antwerp Management School, following his law studies. During this program, Michiel not only learned to think and act in a solution-oriented manner within a business context but also developed his language and social skills through a trimester at Pepperdine University in California.
In 2006, Michiel began his legal traineeship at the Limburg Bar in a large law firm, where, after a broad general training, he gradually specialised in construction law and corporate law.
In 2011, Michiel obtained an additional Master of Laws in Business Law (cum magna laude) from the University of Antwerp. In 2013, he also completed the postgraduate training program for court-appointed liquidators. In 2017, he was recognised as a certified mediator in civil and commercial matters.
In 2016, Michiel co-founded his own law firm, Ryvalex, together with Ine Vanbuel, specialising in corporate law in general and real estate law in particular.
In January 2021, Michiel joined Paqt as a partner, where he led the real estate law department (including construction law) and liability law, before transitioning to Moore Law in 2024.
